Richmond resident and red-shirt junior first baseman Zach Zubia will be returning to the “Forty Acres” for his fifth and final year of college baseball.

Zubia, a Strake Jesuit graduate, said last week on Twitter he would be returning to play baseball at the University of Texas.

“Run it back...year five here we go,” Zubia posted on the social media network.

The NCAA Division I Council extends eligibility for student-athletes impacted by COVID-19 , allowing Zubia another year with the Longhorns.

Zubia was named a first team Academic All-Big 12 selection and received the honor for the third-consecutive season. He led the team with 21 RBI and three home runs during shortened season.
