George Ranch 3, Travis 2

The Longhorns entered Tuesday’s game at Travis with an 8-0 record and the Lady Tigers were 2-5, hoping to get back into the playoff hunt.

Travis nearly pulled off the upset with a five-set loss to George Ranch, 25-18, 15-25, 25-9, 22-25, 15-9.

George Ranch junior Avery Shimaitis had 14 kills, and junior Logan Lednicky had 13 kills.

Senior Caitlin Kurtz had three aces, and senior Paris Donavan had four blocks.

Seniors Briana Steubing and Kurt had 16 digs each. Kurtz also had 25 assists. Senior Alexandra Tennon had 18 assists.

Senior Briana Steubing had 17 receptions.

Fulshear 3, Kempner 0

The Chargers stayed atop of District 24-5A with a sweep of Kempner, 25-7, 25-9, 25-7.

Fulshear (11-0) will travel to Hightower while Kempner (6-5) will host Terry on Friday.

Lamar Cons. 3, Hightower 1

The Lady Mustangs remained in third place in District 24-5A with a four-set win at home against Hightower.

Lamar Consolidated (7-4) will travel to Willowridge and Hightower (5-6) will host Fulshear on Friday.
