The Longhorns beat Angleton 3-0 (25-5, 25-7, 25-9), Bellaire Episcopal 3-1 (25-16, 15-25, 25-17, 26-24) and Houston Memorial 3-2 (17-25, 30-28, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14).
George Ranch blew away the Wildcats with 18 aces, including four each from seniors Briana Steubing and Elyssa Giries.
In the win against Episcopal, junior Avery Shimaitis had 14 kills and junior Allie Sczech added 11. Junior Logan Lednicky had five aces and senior Alexandra Tennon had five blocks. Giries had 15 digs while sophomore Riley Steubing had 15 serve receptions.
Tennon and senior Caitlin Kurtz each had 19 assists.
In the game against Memorial, Sczech and Lednicky combined for 26 kills. Shimaitis had five aces. Tennon (17) and Lednicky (11) each had double-digit blocks. George Ranch had 36 blocks in total.
Tennon had 17 digs and 19 assists. Shimaitis had 27 serve receptions.
The Chargers rebounded with a win Friday against Bellaire Episcopal 3-1, 19-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-16.
Ellie Echter had 19 kills to lead Fulshear’s offense, and Alexis Dacosta added 18 kills. Skylar Voskuhl recorded five blocks.
Ava Underwood had 20 digs while Greta Feeney and Jenna Helms 19 assists each.

The Lady Falcons had three games over the weekend, winning games against Katy Taylor (25-17, 25-23, 25-13) and Port Neches-Groves (25-4, 25-12, 25-19). Foster did drop a match to state-ranked Manvel (25-20, 21-25, 16-25, 19-25).
Sophomore Koryn Johnson and senior Alexis Obialo each had eight kills in the win against Katy Taylor. Sophomore Mackenzie Palmer had 17 digs. Taylor Clark had 12 assists.
Obialo, Amariah Kendrick, senior Kiley Smink and senior Annie Creery each had six kills against Manvel. Palmer had 21 digs and sophomore Chloe Howard had 10 assists.
Smink had 10 kills against Port Neches-Groves. Clark had 10 assists in the victory.
The Lady Tigers didn’t take the easy route to start the season with games against Seven Lakes, Klein Cain and Cypress Creek. Travis lost the first two matches to the Lady Spartans and Lady’ Canes 3-1 before picking up the win over the Lady Cougars 3-1, 22-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-20.
The No.1 team in 4A finished Sweeny on Friday with a home sweep, 25-14, 25-5, 25-3. Senior Maddy Hrncir and junior Ashley Fojtik combined for 22 kills.
Junior Alyssa Edwards and senior Hattie Smith each had three aces to add to the Lady Jay’s 11 total. Fojtik had three blocks. Hrncir had 19 digs while Edwards had 17 and senior Bri Pena had 16.
Smith accounted for 23 assists while junior Alyssa Edwards had nine serve receptions.
The Brahmarettes swept Hitchcock on Friday at home, 25-13, 25-10, 25-5. East Bernard improves to 3-0 in District 24-3A play.
The Cougarettes swept Harmony School of Discovery on Friday, 25-11, 25-12, 25-8, at home. Brazos improves to 3-1 in District 24-3A.
