Rose Cap West blisters Lamar National, 19-2

TYLER — Lamar National 11-year-old All-stars’ impressive run through the playoffs came to a screeching halt Saturday night.

The Rose Cap West All-stars scored multiple runs in four innings, including 10 runs n the sixth, to overpower National, 20-2, in the Texas East State tournament at Faulkner Park.

The setback sends National into the elimination bracket and a contest with Port Neches Sunday at 5.

Rose Cap West took a 10-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth, and it took an RBI single by Brock Wilson, scoring Jackson Schwank, to avoid being run-ruled.

National scored again in the fifth when Tanner Calvo singled in Brady Dever, cutting the deficit to 10-2.

Rose Cap West made the most of 15 hits off five National pitchers and eight errors.
