Auburn and Nebraska was in the neighborhood and they liked what they saw from a couple of Foster football players.
Despite already verbally committing to Oklahoma last week, sophomore wide receiver Cody Jackson said he received an offer from Auburn and Nebraska. The speedy wideout already has offers from schools like Alabama, LSU, Houston and Oregon.
Sophomore offensive lineman Reuben Fatheree II also received an offer from the Tigers and Huskers, joining schools like Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M who have offered the 6-foot-8, 275-pound lineman.
Falcons QB Stubblefield offered by HBU, ACU
Another Falcon receiving an offer last week was junior quarterback Ryan Stubblefield, who received two offers from a pair of Southland Conference schools.
Stubblefield got offers from Houston Baptist and Abilene Christian last week. He also has received offers from Texas Southern, Grambling and Cornell.
GR’s Thomasson, Needville’s Grace to play in TABC All-Star Games
George Ranch senior guard Noah Thomasson and Needville senior guard Chris Grace will participate in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ All-Star Games.
The games will take place on Friday, May 17 at the Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio.
Thomasson will play on the 6A-5A boy’s game, joining with Elkins forward Donovan Williams and head coach Albert Thomas. Grace will play in the 4A-1A game.
Four Lady Jays named academic all-state
A quartet of Needville girl’s soccer players were named academic all-state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
Seniors Victoria Eavenson, Scotlyn Lowe, Bella Ruggeroli and Madison Schultz were named to the 4A team.
Fulshear tennis, band honored at VYPE awards banquet
Fulshear’s tennis team picked up several honors at the VYPE Magazine High School Sports Awards this past weekend.
The Charger tennis team was named the team of the year, with Victor Nguyen winning player of the year for boy’s tennis, and head coach Tracy Kubeczka named tennis coach of the year. Also, the Fulshear band was named the area’s band of the year after finishing in the top 10 at the UIL’s state marching contest.
Foster girls wresting coach Scott Kimball was also honored as the girl’s wrestling coach of the year.
Foster sophomore offensive lineman Leke Asenuga received an offer from Kansas, his first from a Power Five program… Foster junior linebacker Ricky Rich went on an unofficial visit to two Ivy League schools – Yale and Brown – last weekend.
