Longhorns on the run

George Ranch head coach Alicia Dutch’s Longhorn girls teams finished in first place in the Varsity A 4,000-meter race ahead of Clear Falls, Clear Creek and Brazoswood.

The second week of cross country races again featured a top finish from George Ranch. Here are the weekend’s results: 

Brazosport ISD Invitational

George Ranch and Terry took part in the Brazosport ISD Invitational on Saturday in Freeport at Freeport Intermediate School. 

Head coach Alicia Dutch’s Longhorn girls teams finished in first place in the Varsity A 4,000-meter race ahead of Clear Falls, Clear Creek and Brazoswood. 

Junior Haley Harkrider won first place with a time of 14 minutes and 58.1 seconds. 

Sophomore Madison Haldiman was fifth overall with a time of 15:52.1.

Freshman Hayley Moffett (seventh, 15:53.6), freshman Kacey Ehlen (ninth, 16:11.3) and sophomore Ava Curtis (10th, 16:14.4) also finished in the top 10. 

Senior Britton Bielitz (23rd, 17:24.3) and sophomore Ella Ngo (25th, 17:35.1) made the top 25. 

Terry finished in sixth place in both the boys and girls Varsity B 4,000-meter runs. 

For the boys, juniors Christopher Serrano (26th, 15:44.4) and Trampus Marek (30th, 16:02.4) were in the top 10 for the Rangers. 

Sophomore Carlos Beltran (36th, 16:35.7), senior Chance Thompson (42nd, 17:31.1), junior Cesar Vasquez (44th, 18:27.0) and junior Jamie Luna (45th, 18:34.2) were in the top 45. 

Sophomore Levi Donaciano Serrano was 46th with a time of 18:54.7. 

All five runners for the Lady Rangers finished in the top 35 spots. 

Freshman Betsy Hernandez was 23rd with a time of 20:59.2. 

Freshman Alejandra Flores  (27th, 22:25.4), sophomore Gracie Stavinoha (28th, 22:32.8) and sophomore Lyann De Leon (30th, 22:37.9) finished close together. 

Senior Jennifer Garcia was 35th with a time of 26:07.2. 

Spring Branch ISD Invitational

Foster and George Ranch traveled downtown to participate in the Spring Branch ISD Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Nottingham Park in Houston. 

The George Ranch boys finished second in the varsity 5,000-meter run on Friday. 

Travis Morrey had the top finished with a time of 18:03.10 for sixth place. 

Senior Forrest Ancisco (eighth, 18:07.05), senior Jacob Curtis (ninth, 18:07.11) and senior Eli Greene (10th, 18:17.92) finished in the top 10. 

Junior John Moore was 17th with a time of 19:11.73.

Phoenix Tafoya (21st, 19:34.44), senior Camron Carr (25th, 20:33.69), junior Alexander Smith (29th, 20:48.39) and Cameron Chretien (32nd, 20:51.72) rounded out the finishers for George Ranch. 

The Lady Falcons were fourth in a race with only 5A programs competing.

Sophomore Mickayla Tosch was fifth overall with a time of 20:30.40. 

Sophomore Kaitlyn Walsh (10th, 21:12.59) and junior Morgan Molina (13th, 21:28.59) were in the top 15 spots. 

Chloe Mills (29th, 22:39.26) and Danielle (30th, 22:39.59) were in the top 30.  

The Foster boys were sixth among a field with the rest of the field, including 6A programs during Saturday’s 5,000-meter run. 

Senior Caden Cunningham checked in 4th place with a time of 16:26.91. 

Nicholas Pabon (41st, 19:23.17), Adam Morse (44th, 19:35.56), Brady Lamothe (45th, 19:36.52) and senior Corey Thompson (50th, 20:00.28) were in the top 50 for Foster. 

Klein ISD Invitational

Fulshear ran on Saturday in Tomball at Spring Creek Park for the Klein ISD Invitational. 

The Chargers finished in seventh and eighth place respectably for the girls and boys in the 3-mile race that feature mostly 6A programs. 

Senior Briana Roberson placed 13th overall with a time of 19:05.4. 

Junior Mikaela Lopez (29th, 20:30.7), senior Angelita Perret (39th, 21:06.8) and freshman Kamoria Reese (50th, 23:31.2) were in the top 50 finishers. 

For the boys, senior Patrick McCann (37th, 17:09.9), senior Edward Tongee (42nd, 17:23.0), sophomore Zakary Sury (47th, 17:29.1), senior James Harrison Steen (49th, 17:36.1) and senior Ashton Oxford (50th, 17:37.7) were in the top 50.
