The unique season amid a pandemic has resulted in an ever-changing landscape for potential college athletes.

But that didn’t deter George Ranch senior Gabriella Ayiteyfio from earning a spot at the next level.

Ayiteyfio signed her National Letter of Intent to be apart of the track and field team at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock over the weekend with her family, friends and coaches at her home.

Ayiteyfio leaves a long legacy at The Ranch, earning three district titles in her final campaign.

Gabriella won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.84 seconds and the 200-meter dash with a time of 13.03.

She also won the high jump with a mark of five feet and four inches.

George Ranch swept the District 20-6A titles behind Ayiteyfio.

The senior Longhorn would finish fifth in the regional event in the 100-meters at 12.19 and 10th in the high jump with a mark of 5-0.

Gabriella was a state qualifier in 2019 as a member of the Longhorns’ 4x100-meter relay team.

Ayiteyfio, Camille Rutherford, Mikayla Wright and Nyla Barlow finished sixth overall with a time of 46.33.

Ayiteyfio holds the current school record in the 100-meter, high jump, and is one of four legs who holds the school record on our 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a NCAA Division I school and a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

The Trojans finished 12th in the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships last month, while finishing 11th in the indoor championships back in February.

The Arkansas-Little Rock director of track and field/cross coach J.P. Behnke will be entering his fourth season with the Trojans.
