The questions still linger if high school football will take place in 2020. That fact hasn’t stopped Dave Campbell’s Texas Football from highlighting potential star players for the upcoming season.
The magazine announced its annual Whataburger Super Team nominees for the 2020 last week.
Three senior Foster High School football players made the list: wide receiver Cody Jackson, offensive lineman Reuben “Deuce” Fatheree II and defensive lineman Tyler Onyedim.
Jackson has been committed to the University of Oklahoma since he was a sophomore. During his junior season, Jackson had 64 receptions for 1,370 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Fatheree, a recent Texas A&M University commit, anchored an offense that averaged over 400 yards per game last year.
Onyedim, a Iowas State University commitment, averaged around four tackles per game.
George Ranch and Travis each saw one selection. Senior wide receiver Javon Gipson represented the Longhorns, while senior defense back Cameron Oliver was on the list for Travis.
Gipson led the Longhorns in receiving yards with 29 receptions for 637 yards and nine touchdowns. He is a Baylor University commit.
Oliver had seven interceptions and two defensive touchdowns during the regular season.
Ridge Point senior running back Keith Jackson, Hightower senior wide receiver Latrell Neville, Ridge Point senior wide receiver John Paul Richardson and Marshall senior linebacker Kenneth Seymour also represented Fort Bend ISD on the list.
