Travis senior wide receiver Parker Washington and Foster senior defensive lineman Chidozie Nwankwo were named to the Touchdown Club of Houston’s UIL Preseason Team for the upcoming 2019 season.

The Touchdown Club will honor both players with a gala during its Touchdowner of the Year dinner on Aug. 14 at the Bayou City Event Center at 7 p.m. Former Houston Oilers quarterback Dan Pastorini will also be honored.

Nwankwo, a four-year starter on the Falcons’ defensive line, led the team with 60 tackles and five sacks. The 6-foot, 285-pounder has received offers from Houston, Virginia Tech, Kansas State and Minnesota, to name a few.

Washington, a 5-foot-11, 200-pound receiver, caught 75 passes for 1,486 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Tigers last season. He verbally committed to Penn State last month.

Other Fort Bend County players named to the team include Austin wide receiver Troy Omerie, Marshall running back Devon Achane, Hightower offensive lineman Smart Shibuzo, Kempner offensive lineman Akinola Ogunnbiyi, Marshall defensive lineman Warren Robinson and Ridge Point defensive lineman Bryson Stewart.

Ticket information for the dinner is at the Touchdown Club website, www.touchdownclub.org.
