This week marked the beginning of team tennis playoffs for UIL schools and west Fort Bend County came out swinging.

Fulshear, Foster and Needville have all punched their tickets to the regional quarterfinals next week.

Terry will play Galveston Ball on Friday for the chance to go to the third round.

Class 6A

The District 23-6A runner-up George Ranch lost to the third-place finisher in District 24-6A Clear Creek, 10-6, in the bi-district round.

Class 5A

District 24-5A runner-up Foster defeated District 21-5A champion Barbers Hill 17-2 in the area round after receiving a bye in the bi-district round.

Foster will play Friendswood in round 3, the Mustangs beat Angleton 17-0 in the area round.

Terry, the fourth place team in 24-5A, will play Galveston Ball in the area round after getting a bye in the bi-district round.

The Golden Tornadoes defeated Port Neches-Groves 11-8 in the bi-district round.

Class 4A

Fulshear earned byes in both the bi-district and area rounds.

District 24-4A champion Wharton is waiting for the Chargers in the regional quarterfinals.

The Tigers defeated Stafford 14-5 and Livingston 18-1 in the area around.

Needville defeated Brazosport 10-0 in the bi-district round, earning a bye in the area round. The Blue Jays will face Splendora in the regional quarterfinals on Monday at Katy Taylor High School.

Splendora had a bi-district bye and defeated El Campo 10-8 in the area around.
