Fort Bend volleyball roundup: Foster improves to 4-0 in 24-5A

District 24-5A

Foster 3, Marshall 0

The Lady Falcons made short work of Marshall on Tuesday at home, 25-2, 25-9, 25-16.

Foster improved to 4-0 in District 24-5A with sophomore Jackie Onyechi leading the Lady Falcons in kills with 12. Senior Kamryn Williams had seven kills.

Junior Chloe Howard had three aces, followed by senior Eliana Zepeda, senior Ariana Deleon and junior Koryn Johnson who each had two aces.

Zepeda had a team-high 10 digs. Sophomore Brinleigh Davis had 14 assists, while Howard had 10.

Foster (15-12, 4-0) will play Needville on Friday. Marshall (0-4, 0-3) will host Kempner on Friday.

Fulshear 3, Hightower 0

The Chargers got back into the district win column with a sweep of Hightower on Tuesday, 25-21, 25-15, 25-12.

Fulshear (20-12, 3-1) will host Willowridge on Friday, and Hightower (11-11, 3-1) play at Terry.

Lamar Consolidated 3, Willowridge 0

The Lady Mustangs rebounded from a tough loss to Hightower on Friday with a sweep at Willowridge on Tuesday, 25-14, 25-11, 25-9.

Lamar Consolidated (7-7, 2-2) will host Angleton on Friday, and the Lady Eagles (6-9, 0-3) will travel to Willowridge.

District 25-4A

Stafford 3, Bay City 0

The Lady Spartans opened District 25-4A play with a sweep of Bay City, 25-16, 25-21, 25-21.

India Bradshaw and Madison Collins each had seven kills. Aniyah Williams had a team-high in blocks with five. Kenedi Rushing had 14 assists, and Izabella Morales had 10 Digs. D’mya Gipson recorded four aces.

Stafford (8-17, 1-0) will play against Bellville next Tuesday.

Non-district

Tompkins 3, George Ranch 2

The Longhorns lost a tightly-contested match at Katy Tompkins Tuesday, 25-21, 23-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-14.

George Ranch has battled injuries throughout the 2021 season, Longhorns had all three stars Logan Lednicky, Avery Shimaitis and Allie Sczech on the same floor at the same time for only a handful of times.

Shimaitis had 26 kills followed by Lednicky with 14 and Sczech had 11 kills. Senior Dylan Hoskins had eight kills along with two aces. Junior Eryn Rainer, Scezech and Lednicky combined for 15 blocks.

Hoskins also led the team in digs with 13 and Shimaitis had 11. Lednicky had 31 assists and Sczech had 20. Hoskins had 35 receptions.

George Ranch (16-12) will open District 20-6A play on Friday against Elkins, hosting a home match at 7 p.m.

St. Agnes 3, Needville 1

The Lady Jays lost a non-district match at home against St. Agnes on Tuesday, 25-9, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21.

Seniors Cayla Kozik collected eight kills, followed by Ashley Fojtik with seven, and Yasmyn Ocho scored six. Senior Sarah Doggett also had six kills.

Doggett had a team-high in blocks with five and Ochoa had four.

Senior Alyssa Edwards led the team in digs with 17 and 33 service receptions, while sophomore Skylar Butler and Fojtik each had 10 digs.

Fojtik accounted for 16 assists and senior Brooke Blackard had 12 assists. Kozik had 28 receptions.

Needville (15-10) will round out non-district play with a road game at Foster Friday.

Seven Lakes 3, Travis 0

The Lady Tigers lost a road match at the reigning state champion Seven Lakes, 25-23, 25-16, 25-18. The Lady Spartans had 15 kills from Emma Schroder.

Travis (9-12) will begin District 20-6A play on Friday at Austin.

Katy 3, Dulles 0

The Lady Vikings lost a road game at Katy Tuesday, 25-11, 24-26, 25-22, 25-19. Senior Chandler Lee led Katy with 11 kills.

Dulles (17-13) play against Seven Lakes on Friday.

Montgomery 3, Elkins 2

The Lady Knights lost a five-set match at Montgomery Tuesday, 23-25, 13-25, 25-22, 30-28, 15-6. Senior Madi Chandler led the Bears in kills with 15.

Elkins (5-9) will play at George Ranch to begin District 20-6A.

Fort Bend Christian 3, Logos Prep 0

The Lady Eagles swept Logos Prep Tuesday night at home, 25-16, 25-6, 25-13.

Senior Bailey Hanner had a team-high 10 kills followed by freshman Layne Bulow with nine kills and freshman Bayleigh Minor with eight kills.

Junior Sarah Webber had four aces and FBCA had 13 aces in total. Hanner and senior Avery Hodge had six digs each.

FBCA (16-3) will travel to Faith West Academy on Friday.
