The Brazos baseball team lost 9-0 to Thorndale on Wednesday at Bryan High School, as the Bulldogs win the 2A bi-district round series.

Thorndale won the first game 2-1 on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs scored a run in the first and third innings, then put up five runs in the fourth inning on three walks, three hits and an error in the outfield that scored two runs.

The Cougar bats could not solve Thorndale pitcher Logan Davis, who held them only five hits and no walks while striking out nine.

Brazos pitcher Nick Oliver picked up the loss, giving up five earned runs on six hits in his 3.1 innings of work. He also walked three and struck out two.

Kody Ressler led Brazos with two hits, with Luke Demni hitting a double.

Thorndale advances to the area round of the 2A playoffs, while the loss ends Brazos’ season with a record of 12-9-1.
