The Boling Lady Bulldogs have been the team pushing East Bernard on the past two seasons for the District 24-3A.

Now, the Brazos Cougarettes showed Tuesday that they are the team that will be at the top with East Bernard in 2020.

The Cougarettes swept Boling at home on Tuesday, 25-23, 25-12, 25-8.

Brazos (9-3, 2-1) will host Harmony School of Discovery on Friday.

George Ranch 3, Katy Tompkins 1

The Longhorns beat a playoff team from District 19-6A to start the 2020 season in four sets, 19-25, 30-28, 25-19, 25-18.

Junior Logan Lednicky had 14 kills followed by junior Allie Sczech with 12.

Senior Alexandra Tennon had three aces while junior Avery Shimaitis and Lednicky had two aces.

Tennon also led the team with five blocks. Shimaitis and Lednicky had four blocks.

Senior Elyssa Giries had 25 digs.

Tennon had 32 assists.

Senior Elyssa Giries recored 16 serve receptions.

George Ranch (1-0) will host Angleton on Friday.

Foster 3, Brazoswood 1

The Lady Falcons took care of business against a 6A program to open the 2020 season.

Senior Kiley Smink had 12 kills, followed by senior Alexis Obialo and Grace Murphy, each recording eight kills.

Sophomore Chloe Howard had three aces.

Junior Elizabeth Waldrop had a team high six blocks.

Senior Annie Creery had 22 digs and Mackenzie Palmer had 20 digs.

Taylor Clark recored 20 assists and sophomore Chloe Howard had 19 assists.

Foster (1-0) will host Katy Taylor on Friday.

Lamar Consolidated 3, Morton Ranch 1

The Lady Mustangs collected a road win in four sets to open the season.

Outsider hitter Cassidy Drapela led the team with 11 kills and three aces.

Middle blocker Morgyn Sheridan was next with nine kills and four aces.

Lamar Consolidated (1-0) will host Wharton on Friday.

East Bernard 3, Danbury 0

The Brahmarettes swept the Lady Panthers on the road Tuesday, 25-12, 25-12, 25-15.

East Bernard improves to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in District 24-3A. The Brahmarettes will host Hitchcock on Tuesday.

Concordia Lutheran 3, Fulshear 1

The Chargers lost their opener on Tuesday, 22-25, 18-25, 25-23, 12-25.

Fulshear (0-1) will host Episcopal on Friday.
