District 20-6A 

 

Clements 5, George Ranch 3 

The Rangers scored two late runs to grab a home win against George Ranch. 

Clements’ starting pitcher Dylan Burnaman allowed three earned runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking four. 

George Ranch’s Justin Mays and Diego Vinton combined to allow four earned runs on four hits while striking out seven. 

Mays hit a double and walked once. Ryan Brown hit a triple and drove in a run for Clements. 

Travis 12, Elkins 1 

A seven-run inning propelled Travis to a win on Thursday night at Elkins. Davis Rivers was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs scored, two RBIs and two walks for the Tigers. 

Zack Nelson (4.0 IP), Parker White (1.0 IP) and Zach Longshore (1.0 IP) combined to allow one earned run on three hits while striking out four. Elkins’ Joseph Binder was 2-for-2 at the plate for Elkins. 

Ridge Point 14, Bush 3 

The Panthers improved to 6-0 with a win at home against Bush. Zach Ellis (in the park) and  Brandon Nelson hit home runs for Ridge Point. Pedro Medina hit a triple for Bush and drove in two runs. 

District 24-5A 

Terry 4, Hightower 2 

Rangers’ starting pitcher Gio Sanchez limited the Hurricanes to one earned run on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one in Thursday’s win. 

Daniel Cornado stole four bases for Terry. Juan Rodriguez, Luis Garcia, Sanchez, Daniel Coronado, Alex Coronado and Colby White each had hits for Terry. 

Braylen Kizzie was 2-for-3 at the plate for Hightower. Caleb Douglas and Tavon Thompson each hit a double. 

Fulshear 24, Willowridge 0 

The Eagles were able to get the game to the fourth inning, but Fulshear dominated the game at the plate on Thursday. Hudson Yarbrough, Lane Arroyos, Ethan Woodall, Austin Vargas, Rafael Cortez, Hayden Graham and Noah Shipp each drove in two runs for the Chargers. Tyler Schumann pitched two innings, striking out the side twice while allowing one hit.

Joshua Jackson had one hit for Willowridge. 

Kempner 10, Marshall 0 

The Cougars shutout Marshall on Thursday night in Sugar Land. Ross Reichardt went 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBIs. Nathan Jacobson, Thomas Moss and Brandan Phegley combined to pitch five scoreless innings, scattering two hits while striking out nine. 

Angleton 7, Lamar Cons. 4 

The Mustangs were first to lead on Thursday night in Rosenberg, but Angleton scored seven runs over the final three innings to sweep Lamar. Luis Ruales and Zyon Johnson combined for four hits and three RBIs for Lamar. Billy Ford allowed five earned runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings, striking out seven and walked three. 

District 25-4A

Sweeny 8, Needville 7 

The Blue Jays scored six runs over the final three innings, but Sweeny handed Needville its first district loss Thursday at Sweeny. 

Charlie Horton went 2-for-4 in the lead-off spot with two RBIs for Needville. Bryce Nirider hit a double and drove in two runs. Kody Gibbs allowed five earned runs on three hits over three innings, striking out four and walking four. Jon Loewe (2.2 IP) and Carson Shultz combined to allow two earned runs on five hits in relief. 

Stafford 10, Columbia 2 

Kaleb Roberts, Leo Ibarra, Cameron Lampley, Landon Lamply and Angel Ponce each had two hits for Stafford in a win at Columbia Thursday. 

Adrian Chavez and Macario Aleman combined to allow one earned run on five hits over seven innings. Chavez struck out eight.
