Lamar Consolidated ISD student-athletes and marching band students must get a physical before participating in any practices or performances, unless they have one on file from this school year.

The Lamar Consolidated ISD Board of Trustees approved a resolution at their monthly board meeting modifying the requirement for all students to have an annual physical examination prior to participate in University Interscholastic League programs and other district extracurricular programs.

The UIL Legislative Council modified its rule for the 2020-21 season to allow students who have a pre-participation physical examination from the 2019-20 school year on file and completes a UIL medical history form that is signed by the student and parents to participate in activities without a getting a new physical.

A LCISD certified athletic trainer must review each form before a student is cleared to participate.

If a student has recent health issues, a physical may be required by school staff prior to allowing the student to participate.

The resolution allows to take pressure off of parents to get their child’s physical while easing the workload of local medical professionals.
