Three men have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident in the Richmond area Tuesday night.
At about 8:45 p.m., Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the scene of an aggravated assault in the 7100 block of South Mason Road. Four men reportedly got into a fight with one of the men pulling a gun on the victim. The man attempted to fire his weapon at the victim but it did not fire. The men were driving a small, white vehicle, and during the melee, one of the outside rearview mirrors was damaged.
After the fight, the men fled. Deputies were familiar with one of the suspects, who had been connected to a deadly conduct case the prior weekend. A deputy recognized a name of another suspect and deputies drove to his residence in the Lakemont subdivision where they reportedly found the vehicle described by the victim. Three of the suspects were inside the vehicle and deputies also located a .25-caliber handgun.
Three of the four suspects were arrested. Facing the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon are Ronnie Jones, 19, of the Richmond area; Asurubal Villa, 21, of Houston; and Jahfari Tracy, 18, of the Richmond area. Jones also was charged with possession of marijuana (less than two ounces). The marijuana was found on Jones during his arrest. Villa also faces a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon.
During the investigation, detectives received a voluntary statement from Tracy that he was involved in a “deadly conduct” case the previous weekend. Detectives are continuing that investigation.
Detectives also are looking for the fourth suspect, only known as “Faded.”
All three arrested suspects remain in the Fort Bend County Jail, each with a $20,000 bond for the aggravated assault charges. Jones also has a $500 bond for the drug charge, while Villa has an additional $750 bond for the weapons charge.
