It amuses me that local Republicans like Commissioner Andy Meyers and letter writer Tom Snell are mad enough to chew metal and spit out a barbed wire fence over the newly elected Democratic judges wanting to pick their own associate judges because, holy cow, they might pick Democrats.

Perhaps Mr. Meyers and Mr. Snell could tell me the names of any Democrats who the Republican judges picked as associate judges when they were in power over the past 25 years.

Well, that’s really not a fair challenge because there were none. Zero. In fact, Democrats were told not to even bother to apply because the voters want Republicans.

But even more mind-boggling is their moral outrage over the idea that Harold Kennedy may be replaced as an associate judge. They point to his experience and that he’s a good man. There’s one point they neglect to mention: then why the fool tarnation did you guys defeat him for a place on the ballot not once, but twice? Kennedy lost his bid for judge in the Republican primary in 2016 and in 2018. Y’all picked someone with less experience than he has. It seems to me that’s all the new judges are asking to do.

Dudes, seriously? Y’all didn’t want him but you’re trying to force him on us? Yes, I am rolling my eyes.
