Sen. Kolkhorst, I am reading your mailer that was recently sent to my post office box.

In it, it states your group dedicated $5 billion to property tax relief and reformed the school system to relieve the dependence on property taxes.

I see none of that in Fort Bend County.

My value went up $30,000, and the county and Needville ISD each dropped their tax rates less than a cent.

My taxes and value are out of control, and the Central Appraisal District over here has no common sense and answers to no one.

The Texas Senate needs to stop boasting about what they did, and make things happen by controlling taxing entities and stopping the CAD’s from taxing us out of our homes.

My house was built in 1998 and is outdated. To get what the value of my property is, I would have to spend $15,000-$20,000.

If you don’t think I’m serious, write me out a check for what (my property) is appraised at, and I will get the moving van lined up first thing tomorrow.

It is funny how residents have been complaing for years all over our county. Now, two of our local county commissioners have stepped up to bat for us. That did no good because no one listened, but my question to them is, why did it take this long for them to wake up?

It must have been the re-election blues kicking in.
