Narravette’s article, “High-spanics sell out to Trump at White House reception” appears condescending and insulting.

It seems to be an exposé of the author’s bigoted attitude toward those Spanish speakers and descendants of Spanish speakers that see themselves as Americans rather than as a member of a country located south of the border.

Hispanics are not a monolithic group but a collage of different cultures united only by language.

As the children of immigrants that speak Spanish become more inculcated with the American ideal, their views change from being Mexican, Guatemalan, Honduran, etc., to being American and supporting what is good for the USA.

As a child of a mother of Mexican descent and of a father who was of German and Irish descent, I don’t consider myself a Mexican or Hispanic or German, but American. I learned Spanish in school.

American Spanish speakers think for themselves.

I support building the border wall and of ICE chasing down illegals that are criminals.

I see the immigrants treated a lot better at the border than many Americans, i.e., veterans, the homeless, etc.

Stop the invasion and control our border.
