This tears to my heart that we as Texans/Americans would allow, slam and degrade our children, young minds and future leaders.

I read in the Sunday, June 28, 2020 issue of The Fort Bend Herald that an obviously intelligent and brilliant young lady excels to salutatorian of her high school senior class only to be slammed disrespectfully to the dirt by the administration of Lamar ISD.

Marisol Balderas is obviously more capable of running LCISD than what we currently have in place.

I have no question of her politics — left, right, otherwise — nor her desire to cause disruption in any political manner at her graduation.

Her speech is spot-on regardless of your feelings.

Marisol speaks the truth and from her heart!

We could only wish our thoughts, prayers and dreams matched what she expounds!

A better city, county, state, country and world we might have if her spoken word was not censored by a school district that dismisses GOD, country, reading, writing, arithmetic, as well as Texas, American and world history.

One-hundred and 20 seconds — two frickin’ minutes — to awaken and enlighten her fellow classmates (and us) is a small price to pay for our future young leaders.

Terry Principal Juan Nava, I have always known you as an honorable man in our system.

LCISD Supt. Dr. Thomas Randle, shame on you for not allowing this young lady to speak and present her speech to the graduates of Terry High School.

It only happens once in their lives.

Allow the graduates to make their personal decisions from this speech.
