Jeff Allen Wilson, 51, was born August 21st, 1968 in Easton, PA. but at the age of 6 was transplanted and grew up in Simonton, Texas. Currently resided in Fulshear and New Braunfels, Texas. Jeff passed away on September 08, 2019, while on vacation, in the mountains of Colorado. Jeff was doing what he loved, helping others, flying fishing and canoeing with his brother and parents.
Jeff had an adventurous life with riding bulls and broncs in high school, then served our country in the Gulf War with the United States Navy. Only to come home and serve his community for 20 years with the Fulshear – Simonton Fire Department, as a Firefighter / ECA. Where he also met his wife, Laura.
He loved the great outdoors – hunting and fishing. He also had a deep passion for our Houston Astros and those “darn Houston Texans” – as he would say, always hoping for that championship. But he would always tell everyone, who asked “His favorite player, was his son – Cody Wilson” who he cheered on all the way to college football and baseball. Even got the chance to cheer on Cody and our baseball family thru a, Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan. He always said “what a ride.” Jeff, also had his step-daughter, Caitlin, who he gladly accepted into his life at the age of 5. He cheered her on, thru her high school, with volleyball and softball. He always said, “She was the toughest catcher behind the plate, he’d ever seen.”
Jeff spent almost 13 years employed with H.L. & P., Reliant Resources, Reliant Energy then CenterPoint Energy –this is sort of funny, watching all the patches get thicker and thicker, on his chest, as this was all the same company. They never changed shirts, just added another patch. Before leaving CenterPoint, he had worked his way to Head Lineman and truly enjoyed helping his community, after every major storm.
He accomplished one of his goals and called it one of his proudest moments, after completing his degree in Bachelors Business Management. He did this at night, while working at CenterPoint, during the day graduating from Letourneau University, with a 3.9 GPA.
With Jeff’s knowledge of electrical, mechanical and Business Management degree in hand, he leaves another family and great friends with his final employer, Thermon Heat Tracing in Houston and San Marcos. Jeff was in his the 10th year, as a Project Manager.
