Wilma Hammack Tharp

Wilma Hammack Tharp went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 27, 2019 at the age of 95. Wilma was born March 30, 1924 in Bentonville, Texas to George and Susie Hammack. She passed away in Conroe, Texas but was a long time resident of Rosenberg, Texas where she was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son Gary Tharp, daughter-in-law Jane Tharp, grand daughter Kelly Tharp Ellison and husband Mike, grand son Kyle Tharp and wife Samantha, two great grand sons Colton and Christopher, and three great grand daughters Kyley, Lilley and Tynley.

Wilma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Marcus (Sonny) Tharp, parents George and Susie Hammack, two sisters Syveta Gilbreath and Mable Penny, three brothers Melba, Harwell and Hulen Hammack.

She worked at an insurance agency in Rosenberg for 24 years. After she retired, she and her husband opened “Sonny’s Antiques” which thrived for 8 years.

She loved her Lord, her church family and friends and was the happiest when she was with her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts for Wilma Hammack Tharp may be made to the First Baptist Church, 1117 First St. Rosenberg, Texas 77471.

A Memorial graveside service will be held at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, Texas on 8-24-19 at 9:30 A.M.
