Thomas Franklin Ledkins

Funeral services for Thomas Franklin Ledkins, 78, of Richmond, TX, are set for 10 AM Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with David Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery, Needville, TX 77461.

Visitation will be 5 — 7:00 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Mr. Ledkins was born August 18, 1941, in Vanderbilt, TX, to Raymond Daniel Ledkins and Viola Reininger Ledkins. He died December 1, 2019, in Richmond, TX. Thomas was the first in his family to graduate college from U of H, and after a successful career in business, he retired to raise cattle and quail, along with building storage facilities. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He was also a private pilot, and a member of the Lions Club where he ran the annual gin tournament. Thomas loved to travel and loved his Brittany Spaniels, but his greatest passion was caring for his son, John.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 48 years, Georgia Ledkins; and his son, John Ledkins. Survivors include his daughter, Catherine Eisele and husband, Jim; brother, Wayne Ledkins and wife, August; sister, Dorothy Campbell and husband, Billy; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
