Susana “Susie” Maria Silva, 47, of Rosenberg, Texas, passed away at her home on November 26, 2019.
A scripture reading and reception will be held from 5pm — 8pm on December 12, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond, Texas. Deacon Billy Guerrero will be presiding per Susie’s wishes with her ashes present.
Susie was born in Rockport, Texas, to Cayetano and Maria Silva on July 11, 1972. She grew up in Rosenberg, Texas, with her siblings Sylvia Silva and Cayetano Silva III.
Susie went to B.F. Terry High School in Rosenberg, Texas, and went on to study fashion merchandising at the Art Institute of Houston. She had a passion for music, business, education, and family. Susie started her professional career owning and operating multiple businesses prior to joining Alief ISD where she spent the last 10 years working in education administration.
Susie ran into a former B.F. Terry classmate, Lee Guebara, at a restaurant in 2005 and they have been together ever since. They married and made a home together on Lindsay Drive, with the agreement that one of the extra bedrooms would be her “extended” closet. You never saw Susie without Lee — they were inseparable.
Susie had a son, Andrew Rene Silva, born in 1992. Anyone who knows Susie knows how proud she was of her son. She sent him to Strake Jesuit Preparatory College and he later graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is currently getting his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Houston. I’m telling you all of this because she’d want you to know.
Susie wasn’t only a beloved mother and wife, she was also a wonderful daughter, sister and tia. Once you were in her circle, she was there for you — day or night. She loved her family fiercely.
Susie is survived by her husband Lee Guebara; son, Andrew Rene Silva, and his wife Kate Sanderlin Silva; father, Mr. Cayetano Silva Jr.; her sister, Sylvia Silva; her brother, Cayetano Silva III; her nephews and nieces, Lionel Segundo, Danielle Silva, Cody Silva, Jerylynn Baldillez, Casey Silva, and D-Jay Sustaita and many close friends and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Manuela Silva. Her mother always loved butterflies, so when she’d see one, she’d see her mom. So if you see two butterflies, say hi… they are together again.
