Sidney Mac Carney

Sidney Mac Carney, Sid to friends and family, passed away on Thursday, January 23rd 2020 in RIchmond, Texas. Sid was born on January 9, 1947 in McAllen, Texas to loving and devoted parents, Sidney Alec Carney and Wanda Lee Havens Carney.

Sid is survived by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Frankie Carney and their two sons, Sidney Alden Carney and Jason Edward Carney. As the oldest and only son he is survived by his four sisters, Debbie Johnston, Christina Flannery, Carol Carney and Alexis McJilton. In his later life, his greatest joy became the time spent with his four granddaughters Taeya Holmes, Kaylee Carney, Jocelyn Hruby-Dodd and Sydnee Carney.

Sidney Mac was a hard working, passionate and deeply devoted man who excelled at many hobbies and endeavors. He was a valued and highly skilled employee at Rex Supply for 43 years, a tournament level golfer and a avid woodworker. Above all the family wishes you to remember and embody Sid’s devotion to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 2 PM in the chapel at Davis Greenlawn funeral home. The family will receive friends from 1 PM Thursday until service time.
