Savannah Beth Rainey, 25, passed away on October 31, 2019, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Richmond, Texas, on September 1, 1994, to Mark Anton Rainey and Rhonda Beth Anderson Rainey. Savannah was a member of St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Needville where she sang in the choir, participated in multiple mission trips, and served as a Synod Presbyterian Youth Council representative while in high school.
Survivors include her parents, Mark Rainey and Rhonda Rainey; maternal grandmother, Sally Anderson; paternal grandfather, Mitchel Rainey; uncles, Mitch Rainey and husband Dan DiDonato, and Mike Rainey; aunt, Marni Rainey; cousin, Shelbi Rainey; and a host of other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Buddy Anderson, and paternal grandmother, Margaret Rainey.
Savannah attended Needville High School where she was involved in a number of activities including traveling to England and France as a People to People Student Ambassador, band, choir, theater, National Honor Society, and Academic UIL competition where her team was a State Finalist in Literary Criticism. She graduated with honors in 2013 and went on to St. Edwards University in Austin where she graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature.
At the time of her death, Savannah was employed by Progressive Insurance in Austin where she enjoyed mentoring new employees and was working her way up to a Coach position. She always had a smile for everyone and was an inspiration to her co-workers and all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 8, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Needville with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 7, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
