Real Freeman Ransom II

Real Freeman Ransom II, 80, of Richmond, Texas, passed away on July 1, 2019.

He was born on November 19, 1938 in Houston, Texas. Real honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Wasp.

He was a member of River Pointe Church in Richmond. Real was a long time member of Mason Lodge #72 in Richmond.

This loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will truly be missed.

Real is preceded in death by his wife, Merrily; birth parents, Malcolm and Leila Ransom; adoptive parents, LaVawn and Robert J. Ransom; brother, Robert Ransom, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Real Freeman Ransom III, DVM and Cynthia Attwood Ransom.

Survivors include his daughter: Lisa LaVawn Jones (Joan P. Cooper), daughter, Denise Schaefer (Mervin Schaefer); grandchildren: Kevin Wheeler Ransom and Madeline Schaefer; sister, Patricia Feagan (Gary Feagan); sister-in-law, Irene Ransom; nieces & nephews: Gaye Lynn Hale (Jon Hale), Troy Malcolm Ransom, Matthew Feagan and Elizabeth Feagan; great nephew & great niece: Bryan Lewis (Jenn Lewis), and Megan Hale; along with numerous great-great nieces & nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2019 at Morton Cemetery in Richmond.
