Mary Helen Whitlow

After a brief illness, Mary Helen Whitlow, 95, died peacefully with her daughter holding her hand.

The only daughter of mother Aline Austin Truxillo and father Esteve Truxillo, Mary lived in Richmond, Texas her entire life. She retired from the Fort Bend County Treasurer’s office in 1990 and enjoyed retirement tremendously. Mary was a loving mother and a good and loyal friend She was kind, gracious, and loved animals of every kind.

A very special “village” helped Mary to stay in her home until the final weeks of her life. Her family is keenly grateful to Lynnett Alderson and Larry Brau for their help and to Patsy and Irvine Carpenter for faithfully giving Mary a ride to St. John’s Methodist Church every Sunday. The family also wishes to acknowledge the tender and constant friendship of Julia Harrison, for whom there are no words adequate to express our love and gratitude. Finally, the family thanks the wonderful, caring staff at River Ridge Nursing and Rehab in Corpus Christi, with a special thank you to nurse Crystal Ortiz and CNAs Sylvia Zuniga and Becky Delacruz for their special care and attention in Mary’s final days.

Mary is survived by her only child, Margaret Ann Warfield, (Michael). She was very much loved and will be deeply missed.

Cremation entrusted to Sawyer-George Funeral Home Inc., Corpus Christi, Texas.
