Maria Alejandra Chavarria, of Richmond, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 23, 2020 at the age of 77. She was born on June 29, 1943 to Jesus Cabral and Manuelita Salazar Cabral. Alejandra was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother. Alejandra loved unconditionally and found joy attending sports, plays, and dance recitals to show her support for her family but most of all she enjoyed spending time and making memories with her family. She was a long-time member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church in Richmond, where she served proudly as a lector. It was through that membership Alejandra volunteered at many Church Bazaars and Fund Raisers over the years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and crafting. Alejandra retired from the Richmond State School after more than 20 years of service. This loving mother, Nana, sister, aunt, and friend will truly be missed.
Alejandra was married for 53 years to the love of her life, Arturo Chavarria until his death in 2019.
Survivors include her children, Orelia and husband, Christopher Schomer, Nancy Warren and Bill Fagert, Yolanda and husband, Jeffrey Russell, Arturo Chavarria Jr., Adriana Hardy, Alexander Chavarria and wife, Brandy, Laura and husband, Zachary Spence, and Omar Chavarria and wife, Veronica.
Alejandra was the proud Nana to her grandchildren, Joseph Chavarria and wife, Alexis , Julia Chavarria, Kaitlyn and, Joshua Hardy, Samuel and, Daniel Schomer, Alexis Warren, Lauren , Brandon , and Cameron Chavarria, Chloe and, Drake Russell, and Brian Spence. Alejandra was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Ava and Eli Chavarria.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home is only able to accommodate 100 attendees and facial coverings are required to enter the building.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father Lee Flores officiating. Burial to follow at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
