Jimmy was born May 22, 1948 in Richmond, Texas to Adolph and Josephine Brau. He married his wife, Connie Miller Brau on October 29, 1972, and together they built their life with their son James. In his early years, Jimmy worked for Brown and Root along with the Texas Prison System. Most of his years were spent working for the City of Rosenberg as a treatment plant operator and for LCISD as a bus driver which brought him great joy until his retirement. Jimmy loved camping, hunting, mowing yards with his brother Larry and officiating high school softball games. When he could no longer officiate games, he could be found watching games, scorekeeping, or just hanging out with his extended umpire family. He often looked forward to boarding the cruise ship with his son. He enjoyed spending time at their deer lease and was known for taking day trips just to turn around to head back home to watch his favorite wrestling show. Jimmy’s love for children and the gift of laughter and joking lead him to play the role of Santa Claus for the American Legion and other organizations, friends and family for many, many years. His jolly Christmas joy, laughter and jokes will be greatly missed by all.
