Howard Viger passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 peacefully at Brookdale Memorial Oaks in Houston, TX.
At 88 years old, he was still active until the last 6 months of his life.
He was born & raised in Minnesota by Clarence Viger and Emily Elshaug-Viger, with younger sister Marlys.
Howard married his college sweetheart, JoAnn Brock. They raised 3 daughters, Andrea, Barbara and Carla in Metairie, Louisiana, and moved to Richmond, Texas.
After the Armed Forces called upon him to serve his country, Howard went to Colorado College and excelled as a hockey goalie while earning a degree in Geophysics.
He worked for GSI and as Regional Vice-President of Texas Instruments. After retiring, he happily working at Pecan Grove Ace Hardware for several years, where everyone came to him for advice and small repairs. Howard was known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Howard is proceeded in death by his parents and wife of 54 years, JoAnn and survived by his sister Marlys and her husband Merlin Holm and their daughters; his daughters, Andrea and her husband, Alan Kampf; Barbara and her husband, Frank Giannone and Carla Viger; grandchildren Nicole, Anthony and Tyler and wife, Elizabeth; and two great-children.
