Funeral Services for Guadalupe Escalante Cortez, 87, of Richmond will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Hernandez Funeral Home 800 Fourth Street in Rosenberg. Burial will follow at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 15, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hernandez Funeral Home 800 Fourth Street in Rosenberg. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Ms. Cortez was born February 21, 1933 in Richmond, Texas and she passed away February 7, 2021 in Richmond, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Bacileo (Jim) and Maria Cortez; her brothers Ernesto, Joe and Willie Cortez; her sisters Elena Vasquez, Delphine Guerrero and Benita C. Jasso; her great grandson Arnold J. Pompa.

She is survived by her children Jim Martinez and wife Rosario, Eva Maria Reyes Godoy and husband Hector Garcia; her sister Emelia C. Chavez; her grandchildren Sonia Rodulfo, Francisco (Fabian) Guerra, Evangelina Guerra and Jim Andrew Martinez; her great grandchildren Destany Garcia, Roland Rodulfo, Roman Rodulfo and Kaylyn Vidaurri; her great great grandchild Evelyn McCauley Tobar; as well as other loving family members and friends.

“We are limited to (20) number of guests at all times of service, we do request that everyone in attendance continue to practice social distances and masks are required at all times. Children are required to be seated with parents at all times.”
