Gale Lewallen Hyde

Gale Lewallen Hyde, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Gatehouse Hospice facility in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on September 14, 2019 after a brief unexpected illness while on vacation. She was born October 13, 1937 in Duffau, Texas to Marvin and Faye (Bagley) Lewallen and was a graduate of Blackwell High School. She married Ray Hyde on April 4, 1959 in Odessa, Texas and had two children. Gale retired from the Ft. Bend County Treasurer’s office and later worked at Helping Hands food pantry serving the community. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg for 55 years. Gale had recently moved to Allen, Texas to be near family and was a member of First Baptist Church of Allen.

She is survived by her son Richard Hyde and wife Donna, and her daughter Reesa Buchanan and husband Mark, 5 granddaughters; Rebecca Newcomb and husband Steven, Rachel Wright and husband John, Bryanna Buchanan and fiancé JD Telford, Alyssa Buchanan and Kyra Buchanan, and great grandsons Jace Wright and Jackson Wright. Gale was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray Hyde and by her parents and brother.

Her life celebration service will be held Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Nate Sprinkle will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 4-6 P.M. at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

In lieu of flowers if you would like, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Gale’s name.
