Emil Jakubik Jr.

Emil Jakubik, Jr. of Fairchilds, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. Emil was born on August 21, 1932 in Brown Community, Texas to Emil and Gertrude Foss Jakubik. He grew up in Brown Community and later moved to Fairchilds in his teen years with his family.

Emil had several occupations including managing a gas station, repairing farm equipment and being a security guard. Emil was employed as a security guard at Fluor Daniel for over 30 years before his retirement in August 2018. When he was younger, Emil enjoyed fishing with his nephews. In the later years he enjoyed the family get-togethers on holidays, as well as the occasional casino trips he took with a wonderful group of friends who became his “family” and caretakers. Also, he loved taking his Schnauzer “Girlie” on her daily drive after work.

Emil was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. His passing will be grieved and his life will continue to be celebrated. His friends described him as loyal, hardworking and a caring man who was always there if you needed a helping hand.

Emil is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Darlene Pisklak, Mary Dee Walenta, Loraine Batke, and Helen Petrosky. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and close friends, including the Avila family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Garmany and Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. Interment will follow at Needville Public Cemetery in Needville, Texas 77461. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Garmany and Carden Funeral Chapel, for one hour preceding the funeral service.

Pallbearers: Dave Petrosky, Chris Bryson, Jared Avila, Alex Avila, Luis Avila, and Larry Carriere. Honorary Pallbearers: James Pisklak, Gary Pisklak, and Leldon Walenta.
