She was born November 14, 1924 in Brenham, TX to Robert Fredrich and Elizabeth Mahlmann Weiss, baptized on December 28, 1924 at Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. William Utesch and confirmed on September 25, 1938 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham by Rev. Arthur Hartmann.

Elizabeth attended Brenham public schools and graduated salutatorian from Brenham High School on May 29, 1942. A.L. and Betty reared their family in East Bernard and Rosenberg where she was a steadfast housewife and meticulous bookkeeper for the family farming and ranching business. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she spent countless hours in Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, Church Choir, Board of Education and Sunday School. Elizabeth enjoyed visiting and singing with shut-ins and the elderly. She was a devoted wife, and a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She showed her love and support by attending numerous events and milestones of her family’s lives. Elizabeth thoroughly enjoyed cheering for her Texas Aggies and Houston Astros, fishing, playing cards, dominos, Skipbo, slots, and especially winning Bingo with her many friends, but more than anything, she loved singing old gospel favorites.
