Dorothy Patterson Albright

Dorothy Patterson Albright, 78 of Sugar Land and known to her friends as Dottie, left to be with the Lord and join her beloved husband, Byron, on Friday, May 21, 2021.

Dottie was born in Chicago, IL, on September 30, 1942, to Charles “Pat” and Helene Patterson. Dottie attended St. Mary’s College where she completed her prerequisites before entering and receiving her degree from the Holy Cross School of Nursing, in South Bend, IN.

In addition to her family and community, Mrs. Albright devoted her life to nursing and caring for her patients.

She was a leader and mentor throughout the greater Houston healthcare community, as a Cardiac Care Specialist, Operating Room Supervisor, Director of Nursing and personal Physician’s Nurse, to many key facilities and providers.

Dottie was also very active in the community, as she offered her leadership and dedication to the original Sugar Land Little League, Sugar Land Swim Club, several Fort Bend ISD committees/clubs and activities at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

Most recently, Dottie supported the local charity Fort Bend Cares.

And all who knew Dottie were aware of her love of sports, especially baseball, and her deep passion for everything Notre Dame.

Dottie is survived by her children, Jeff Albright and his wife, Cindy; Byna Allbright and her husband, Charlie; Paul Albright and his wife, Jane; Jody Albright; Kerry Bludau and her husband, Scott – as well as her sister Charlene Rathbun and her husband, Larry. Her remaining large family includes 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, two grandchildren and two nephews.

Pallbeareres will be her grandsons, Rusty Allbright, David Albright, Chris Albright, Jacob Drewek, Davis Drewek, Cole Christoffel and honorary-pallbearer Trevor Allbright.

A Rosary Service will be offered at 1 p.m., Friday, May 28th at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 115 Seventh Street in Sugar Land, TX, followed by a visitation with the family.

A Funeral Mass for Dottie will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m., with a private family burial following the service at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, FM 2218 at Highway 59 in Rosenberg.

A Celebration of Life is being offered at Alicia’s Mexican Grille, 24420 Southwest Fwy, Richmond, TX 77469.
