Donna Catherine (Armstrong) Leissner, 77, formerly of Damon, Texas passed away on January 18, 2020 with her children by her side. She was born on June 17, 1942 in Wharton, Texas to Robert and Dorothy (Burford) Armstrong. After graduating cosmetology school, Donna worked at Hi-Styles in Rosenberg before opening her own shop in the 70‘s – Creative Hairstyles in Damon, Texas.
Donna’s faith was very important to her. Over the years she attended First Baptist Church in Damon, Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville and later in life, Lakewood Church in Houston.
Donna loved to garden, lilies were her favorite. She loved to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
She enjoyed hosting parties for her family and friends, spending time with loved ones and traveling.
In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Leissner; brother, Jimmy Armstrong; parents-in-law, Alfred and Hulda Leissner; nephew, Bradley Hilton; and brother-in-law, Kenny Hilton.
Survivors include her daughter, Teanna Scheel and husband, Brandon; son, Taft Leissner and wife, Marla; sisters, Betty Hilton and Margaret Bartsch and husband, Ed; brother, Charles Armstrong and wife, Shirlene; sisters-in-law, Laverne Krobot and Marie Armstrong; many nieces and nephews, along with extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
Pallbearers will include her nephews, Darren Bartsch, James Armstrong, Larry Richter, Bobby Webel, Andy Herring and Mark Krobot. Honorary Pallbearer will be Charlie Armstrong.
