Clara Koteras Gonyo

Clara Koteras Gonyo,103, went to her eternal home on September 13, 2020. She was born on April 19, 1917 in West Point, VA to parents Joe and Eva Koteras. The family returned to Texas when she was very young and lived on a farm in Crabb, TX. She married Calvin Gonyo in 1940. They made their home in Richmond, TX.

Clara worked for LCISD at the Jane Long School Cafeteria for a few years and then at Richmond State School until she retired. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her grandsons in their growing up years. She also enjoyed

going on many family vacations throughout the United States and Canada, her favorite being a Hawaiian Island cruise. When she was 99 years old, she moved to Reliable Oaks Assisted Living and was able to celebrate her 100th birthday there with more than 60 relatives and friends coming to share that milestone with her. Her family is thankful for Elizabeth Williams, her sister Mary and all the staff for the loving care they have given her the last 4 years.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband ,Calvin and brothers, John Koteras, Tony Koteras, Chester Koteras, F. I. Koteras, Alfred Koteras and sister Adela Bettin. She is survived by her daughter, Virgie Jeske and husband Owen, 2 grandsons, Randy Jeske and wife Julie, and Brett Jeske. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Sydney, Gabe, and David Jeske and sister Frances Hackstedt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, Richmond.

Services were held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
