Bartley Jane Leightenheimer

Former Richmond resident, Bartley Jane Leightenheimer, 90, died November 13, 2020 at her home in Sugarland, Texas.

Jane was born in Richmond, Texas on October 14, 1930 and was a member of The St. John’s United Methodist Church since 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Leightenheimer; Parents, Albert and Edith Harrington; sister, Vivian Ruth Lindenberg and her dogs Bubba I and II.

Jane is survived by her brother, Wayne Harrington and wife Renee; Son, Charles and wife Debbie Leightenheimer; Daughter, Nan Leightenheimer; Three grandchildren, Emily Jane Leightenheimer, Christopher Jordan Lopez and Michel Ross Lopez; three great grandchildren, Trent, Krislyn and Cadence and six nieces.

Pallbearers will be Charles Leightenheimer, Christopher Lopez, Ross Lopez, Greg Zamora, Lloyd Jochec and Dyer Bowen. Honorary Pallbearers are Lida McNeill, Madelyn Morton and Ollie J. Whatley.

Jane will always be remembered for her straightforward and honest personality, and her love for shopping. When her health permitted, she would always be found at a shopping mall in Houston or eating at Luby’s Cafateria.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 1pm to 2pm at St. John’s Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John’s Methodist Church, 400 Jackson Street Richmond, TX, 77469.
