Bart John Cornell

Bart John Cornell, 80, of Rosenberg passed away peacefully on the morning of July 21, 2019. He was born in Rome, NY and lived in the Fort Bend County, Richmond/Rosenberg area for nearly 38 years. Bart managed Blake Phillips Car Care Center in Rosenberg for 25 years where he later retired his career.

Bart’s most absolute pride and joy were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He proudly devoted his life and attention to raising his children, teaching them (as well as his grandchildren) all their life skills, taking them on many camping and fishing adventures and of course teaching them all how to drive. He had a devoured love of animals, especially all of his dogs and was the #1 fan of the Houston Astros. Bart also proudly served our country in the US Navy.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Rubeor Cornell and son, Jimmy Jack Cornell.

He is survived by his former spouse, mother of his children and companion, Rosa Williams; his sons, John Cornell and wife, Remy of Katy, and Joey Cornell and wife Dezerea of East Bernard; daughter Sissy Cornell Smith of East Bernard; 13 grandchildren, Bart Cornell and wife Genny, Melanie Cornell, John Cornell, Jr., Andrew Cornell, Michelle Cornell, Michael Cornell, Robert Cornell and wife Brandi, Cinnamon Cornell, Paisley Cornell, Bernadette Cornell, Madilyn Smith, Maloreigh Smith and Carter Smith; 4 great-grandchildren, Ashley Cornell, Elijah Cornell, Micah Cornell and Malachi Rivera; and many other family and friends.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 10 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, located at 839 Church St, East Bernard, TX 77435 with Fr. Charles Otsiwah celebrating.

A memorial and celebration of life will directly follow at the American Legion Post 266, located at TX-60, East Bernard, TX 77435. All of Bart’s favorite foods will be shared as a true remembrance of him.
