Autumn Blackmon

Autumn Blackmon, 77, was born in San Antonio, TX to Thomas H. and Beatrice Mace. She was the youngest of seven children, two brothers and five sisters. All her life, Autumn was a ‘People Person’ and a hard worker. She was generous to a fault and the happiest when she made others laugh.

Autumn loved her family, her church, and her job. She was a member of the Fulshear United Methodist Church where she served two terms as President of the Methodist Women and two terms as the church’s lay leader. Along the way, Autumn taught Sunday school and vacation bible school.

In her work life, Autumn started in the banking industry in accounting then moved on to bookkeeping for multiple companies to her final ‘real’ job with Houston West Corp., where she began as a bookkeeper and retired some 20 years later as a General Manager responsible for six department managers and 125 employees.

September 30, 1961 Autumn married Richard Blackmon. They had one daughter, Paige Alice Blackmon, who married Mark Weissenberger. They gave Autumn a granddaughter, Linde Mae Weissenberger, and grandson Zachary Mace Weissenberger. Zachary and wife Maia Jaimes gave Autumn her first great granddaughter, Georgia Mae, followed close behind by Linde Mae and her husband Chandler Hash expecting a new great granddaughter, Autumn Ruth Hash, this October.

A special acknowledgement to Autumn’s best friend for the past 70 years, Diana Shulte Daniels.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Schmidt Funeral Home East Avenue Chapel, in Katy. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Fulshear Cemetery in Fulshear.
