Aubrey Elizabeth South Herrera, 15, gained her wings on Saturday, October 17th, 2020 at Texas Children’s Hospital in the Medical Center.

She was born on May 7th, 2005, in Katy, Texas.

Aubrey was a freshman at BF Terry High School and an art student at Sugar Land Center under th4e tutelage of Mr. Neil Sen.

Aubrey was a member of River Pointe Church in Richmond, TX. She was strong in her faith and love of Jesus and was baptized on December 15, 2019.

Aubrey was a double-lung transplant recipient and received her gift of a second chance at Texas Children’s Hospital on March 12th, 2019. She was a strong advocate for Pulmonary Hypertension and Organ donation.

Aubrey is preceded in her journey to Heaven by her grandfathers, John Herrera and Kirk Treftz, her great-grandparents, and Elvis, Selena, Prince and Chester Pennington.

She leaves behind her parents Jason and Tammy Herrera, siblings Michael, Lauren, Nick, Corporal Leo Amaro, and Angel Huerta and Niece Aelia.

In addition, left to mourn her are her Momo Alice Lozano, Pepaw Phil South, Mommom Elizabeth Treftz, and Nana Kathy Herrera, Aunt Toni and Uncle John, Uncle Drew and Amanda, Uncle Buddy, Uncle Frowup.

She also leaves behind her a pack of built in friends, her cousins Chance, Kailob, Kylee, Eli, Destiny, Helena, Christian, Karina, Regan, Tegan, and Sylas.

She will also be deeply missed by her dog Hercules.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 24th, 2020 at River Pointe Church-Missouri City Campus, located at 7057 Knights Ct., Missouri City, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Aubrey’s name to the Donate Life, Pulmonary Hypertension Association and Nora’s Home-Houston.
