Arkence Ben Petroski

Arkence Ben Petroski, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at his home in Rosenberg. He was born July 14, 1933 in Chappell Hill to Martin and Nancy Petroski. Arkence was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 271. Arkence loved watching the Houston Astors and gardening. He was a smooth dancer in his younger days. He enjoyed visiting, playing dominos with his friends at The Bohemian Hill. He enjoyed visits with his family, friends and grandkids. He listened to polka music and enjoyed watching westerns.

Survivors include 5 children, Brenda Sillavan, Allen Petroski, Patsy Hicks, Charlene Dickerson, Denise Mayfield and husband Joseph, 2 sisters, Rosalie Tucker, Dorothy Grudziecke and husband Mike, 9 grandchildren, Kevin Sillavan and wife Gabbie, Kristin Hiles and husband Charlie, Scott Petroski and wife Megan, Kelly Nowak and husband Zach, Magen Petroski, Robyn Hicks, Tracy Hicks,Riley Mayfield, Ethan Mayfield, 6 great grandchildren along with a host of other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 59 years, Leona Petroski, 5 sisters, Theresa Meleski, Agnes Meleski, Esther Poncik, Mary Ann Ohl, Frances Petroski and great grandson, Brayden Hicks.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. in the chapel at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home. Social distancing is required.

The family would like to thank his caregiver, Diane Werther. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fort Bend Seniors Meals on Wheels in his name.
