A Page 1 story in the Thursday, Feb. 3, issue of The Fort Bend Herald included some incorrect information in a story titled“Davila calls for Balderas’ Resignation.” The story includes statements from the City Attorney Grady Randle regarding council members being removed if they miss three consecutive meetings. It goes on to state that “according to city charter, ‘if a member of the city council shall be absent from three regularly scheduled meetings without a valid excuse, the member shall at the discretion of the city council forfeit his/her office.’” Further, the article stated, “According to City Attorney Grady Randle, if a council member misses three consecutive meetings, he or she could be removed.” It appeared to readers that Randle made these statements to The Herald. He did not, but he did mention it at a previous council meeting.
