The National Weather Service announced a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Rosenberg, Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch. 

A Tropical Storm Warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected somewhere within this area within the next 36 hours.

In a special weather statement Monday, the National Weather Service also reported that strong thunderstorms will impact portions of Colorado, Wharton, eastern Austin, Jackson, Galveston, Fort Bend, Brazoria, southwestern Chambers, Matagorda, southern Waller and central Harris Counties through 8:30 a.m.

A flash flood watch is also in effect for portions of central Texas, including Fort Bend County. 

Through Tuesday evening periods of heavy rainfall associated with Tropical Storm Nicholas are expected to result in Flash Flooding across the area. Widespread total rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches are expected across the area within the watch with some locally higher totals of 15 inches.
