Concrete sidewalk construction and repair services are up for discussion at Tuesday’s Rosenberg City Council meeting. Four bids were received for sidewalk construction and repair last month.
City staff is recommending the contract be awarded to Ally General Solutions.
The contract is for a one-year term with an option to renew for a three additional one-year terms. Currently, there is $110,000 proposed in the 2020 fiscal year budget for sidewalk repairs. The Rosenberg Development Corp. has also proposed $300,000 for new sidewalks in its 2020 budgets.
In other business, council members will consider moving forward with subgrade stabilization services.
A subgrade stabilizer helps provide a stable foundation layer from which a permanent or temporary road/working platform can be built. According to city staff, only one bid was received.
Sole bidder Angel Brothers Enterprises has provided these services to the city over the previous contract term and city staff has been satisfied with its work. Staff recommends awarding the contract to Angel Brothers for a one-year term, and automatically renewing thereafter for three additional one-year terms.
The first year of this contract would expire on July 31, 2020, and would automatically renew on the anniversary date each year. Next fiscal year, city staff will present the 2020 fiscal year road reconstruction list to council. C
ity staff estimates to use approximately $350,000 for subgrade stabilization for the next fiscal year’s projects.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 2110 Fourth St. Residents wishing to speak must sign up in advance.
