On Friday, September 11, 2020 at approximately 10:42pm, officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 1800 block of Callaway Cove Ct, Rosenberg, Texas in reference to a home invasion robbery. Upon arrival, Officers located the homeowner with apparent gunshot wounds. The homeowner identified as Ramiro Martinez (48 YOA) tragically succumbed to injuries received during the robbery.

A thorough investigation into the circumstances and facts began which ultimately led the Rosenberg Police Department to obtaining an arrest warrant for Jorge Castellanos (32 YOA) of Corpus Christi, Texas for the alleged offense of Capital Murder.

On Thursday, October 15, 2020 Jorge Castellanos was detained on the US/Mexico border and held for transport to Fort Bend County where he is being held without bond.

I would like to thank our Criminal Investigations Division and Assistant Chief Nethery for their hard work and determination in identifying Jorge Castellanos and holding him accountable for this egregious act of violence. While it is unfortunate Jorge Castellanos traveled to Rosenberg to commit this crime, I am thankful he has been located and placed into custody. I would like to thank the Texas Rangers and US Customs and Border Protection for their assistance in locating and detaining Jorge Castellanos. Jorge Castellanos is currently being held at the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office for the offense of Capital Murder with no bond.
