A Needville mother and her two children who were seriously injured in an automobile accident Monday morning are slowly recuperating, a family member told The Herald on Thursday.
Donnie Swallers says his daughter Tamara Graves, granddaughter Addyson and grandson Bryce were critically injured in the early morning accident but are improving slowly in the ICU of a Houston hospital.
Graves, 40, was taking the kids to school Monday when a truck hit the sedan they were in at the intersection of Jeske and Roesler roads outside of town, Swallers said.
Addyson, 12, is a seventh-grader at Needville Junior High School and Bryce, 14, is a freshman at Needville High School.
They were flown by medical helicopters.
Addyson has severe brain trauma and a broken pelvis; Bryce has a cracked skull and severe brain trauma and their mother has a broken pelvis and fractured spine, Swallers said.
Swallers said his son-in-law, Charles Graves and oldest child Kaia Graves have started a GoFundMe page on Facebook to help defray medical costs. Here’s the link to the GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/duwwqd-graves-family
“We appreciate all the phone calls, prayers and kindness expressed during this emotional time,” Swallers said.
