Lamar Consolidated ISD has released its guidelines for how its graduation ceremonies will be conducted outdoors at Katy’s Legacy Stadium later this month.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic and guidance from the Texas Education Agency, the ceremonies will have to provide six feet of spacing for all participants. Legacy Stadium can hold a maximum of 3,600 when groups of four to eight people can sit under the guidelines.

Also, the graduates from Foster, Terry and George Ranch will have up to four tickets for each graduate to give to family and friends. Because Lamar Consolidated’s and Fulshear’s graduating class is smaller than the other three classes, those graduates will receive eight tickets each.

The guests of each graduate will be required to sit together in groups of four in the designated seating areas at the stadium, ensuring that they are six feet apart from the other guests. There will be marked seats and signs at Legacy to implement social distancing.

There will be no screening of symptoms at the stadium, so the district asks all participants to do a self-screening before coming to the ceremony.

Guests that are 3 years or older must have a ticket to go to the ceremonies. All ceremonies will be streamed live on the LCISD website and the LCISD YouTube channel.

Even though there is no charge to park at Legacy Stadium, each graduate will also receive two parking tags. Graduates can pick up their tickets and parking tags at their respective campuses.

There is also a clear bag policy at Legacy Stadium, and air horns, balloons, banners, flowers, food and drinks, gifts, laser pointers, signs larger than two feet long and wide, and weapons are all prohibited inside the stadium.

The ceremonies will begin on Friday, June 26 with George Ranch, followed by Fulshear on Saturday, June 27. Foster’s ceremony will be on Sunday, June 28, followed by Lamar Consolidated on Monday, June 29 and Terry on Tuesday, June 30.

All ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.

Rainout dates are the next morning from the originally scheduled date at 9:30 a.m.
