The Lamar Consolidated Independent School District has announced its end-of-year process for students to drop off school materials and pick up all personal items left at the campuses.

The district asks students to gather items that need to be returned to their school, such as library books, textbooks and technology devices. All items must be placed in a bag or box and put in the trunk of their parents’ car. The box and/or bag must be labeled with the student’s name, grade and teacher for grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

School staff will also gather students’ belongings that were left in desks and lockers and will place the items in bags to give to parents.

The schedule for dropping off and picking up materials are June 2 through June 5, with times selected by alphabetical order.

— June 2: A-D from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.; E-K from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; L-R from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m.; and S-Z from 2:30-4:15 p.m.

— June 3: S-Z from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.; A-D from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; E-K from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m.; and L-R from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m.

— June 4: L-R from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.; S-Z from 10:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; A-D from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m.; and E-K from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m.

— June 5 is by appointment if necessary.

Parents and students are asked to stay in their cars at all times and are encouraged to wear a mask. Make sure the paper with the student’s name and grade are visible to the person standing outside the building.

For students who have medication at the school, the school nurse will notify parents the week of May 25 regarding the pickup of the medication from campus.

LCISD secondary students with school-owned instruments, athletic equipment and uniforms will return their items during the week of May 25, along with Career and Technical Education and JROTC equipment.

The return of athletic and fine arts equipment will be Tuesday, May 26 from 8-10 a.m.; Wednesday, May 27 from 1-3 p.m.; and Thursday, May 28 from 6-8 p.m.

The drop-off locations will be either the athletic fieldhouse or the front of the music rooms. All equipment should be placed in a garbage bag with the student’s name on the outside with masking tape, if possible.
